Fishing at the Waterfall
Waterfall Lodge features two large spring-fed trout
ponds that we stock year-round with rainbow trout.
Combined, the two ponds cover nearly 2/3 of an acre.
Fishing is available to all guests of the lodge, and
since the lodge is on private property, a fishing
license is not required.

CATCH AND RELEASE.
While bait and fishing gear are available at the lodge,
we recommend that you bring your own if you prefer
open-faced reels or a particular rod length or action.
Flyfishing gear is not available, but our expansive,
open decks and shores make our ponds an ideal place to
hone your casting skills -so bring it if you've got it!
Once you feel you're ready, the nearby Rio Peņasco river
boasts some of the best creek fishing in the Sacramento
Mountains. This does, of course, require a New Mexico
fishing license. These can be obtained at K-mart or Wal-mart
in the nearby city of Alamogordo.
